錆屋の和蝋燭は、櫨の木の実から採れる櫨蝋と植物や土など、自然由来の染料を使用し、一本ずつ手仕事で仕上げています。
芯には和紙と藺草を巻き、空気を含ませながらゆっくりと燃えるため、その炎はどこか生き物のようにやさしく揺らぎます。

【 満月について 】
黄土で色付けした、光に満ちた黄色の和蝋燭。
そのうち二本には、雲を思わせるように白蝋を纏わせました。
夜空をめぐる月と、流れる雲のかたち。
それぞれの蝋燭が、月の表情を映します。
炎を見つめる時間が、いま在るものの豊かさに気づかせてくれる。
満月は、満ちるための和蝋燭です。

Sabiya’s warousoku are made from haze wax extracted from the fruit of the Japanese wax tree, using natural pigments derived from plants, earth, and other natural sources. Each candle is carefully finished by hand, one by one.
The wicks are made from washi paper and rush grass, allowing them to hold air and burn slowly. The result is a soft, gently flickering flame that seems almost alive.

Two of the candles are layered with white wax, evoking clouds drifting across the moon.
The moon crossing the night sky, and the changing forms of passing clouds.
Each candle reflects a different expression of the moon.

Mangetsu is a warousoku for noticing what is already here.
